The 2023 MLB playoffs has officially come to a close. The Texas Rangers are the 2023 MLB World Series Champions. The 2023 World Series will go down as a World Series to remember. The Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks were never expected to reach this year’s World Series. Both teams entered the 2023 playoffs as heavy underdogs. They defied the odds by winning their respective playoff series in upsetting fashion. They showed heart and resilience. The Texas Rangers would finish the playoffs as the superior team. The Rangers offense was aggressive and truly battle tested. Their playoff run can be described as historic when reflecting on their road victory streak. They finished their 2023 playoff run, undfeated on the road. Eleven straight road victories, setting a new MLB record. All Star hitters Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Adolis Garcia showed out on the biggest stage in this series. Seager would win the World Series MVP, becoming the first player to win World Series MVP in the American and National League. The World Series win would also mark the first Championship in the Rangers franchise history. Only five MLB teams now remain without winning a championship. The Arizona Diamondbacks did not win this year’s championship but they showed pride and grit. They should be back in the playoffs next year, stronger and more experienced. Can the Texas Rangers repeat as world champions? What will happen to the Arizona Diamondbacks during the MLB offseason? The 2023 MLB offseason will heat up this December.

Is tanking in December bad for the NBA?

Today begins the early stages of trade season in the NBA. Players who signed during the 2024 offseason are now eligable for trades. Several contendering NBA teams are now in the mix for trade upgrades to their playoff caliber rosters. The question becomes why would a team sell players with over 50 games remaining in the 2024-2025 season. The answer is simple: to tank. The NBA 2025 draft lottery is 5 months away but that wont stop many NBA general managers from selling high or low. Rebuilding NBA teams have a chance to impact their draft lottery odds by selling as soon as possible. Selling early often leads to impacting the number of game losses.
